An expanding compass and square masonic charm

212,495. Euler, E. G., and Collins, E. J. Oct. 2, 1923. Jewellery. - A compass - and - square masonic charm is so constructed that it may be worn folded or open as desired. The respective legs of the square and compass are pivotally connected together at 6a, 6b, the legs of the square being pivotally connected at 6c. A locking pin 15 fixed on the leg 4 of the square serves to hold the parts in the folded position shown in Fig. 1. The charm opens out to the position shown in Fig. 2 under the action of a torsion spring acting on the compass hinge 8, the opening movement being limited by the engagement of stops situated on the legs of the square near the pivot 6c. The charm is suspended by a ring 1 passing through the tubular pin about which the compass legs hinge.
