Planing and shaping. - A double-cutter tool-holder for planing and shaping machines comprises a box x in which two holders hare mounted on pivots c, one holder containing a spring f which pushes a plunger g into engagement with a machined surface j on the opposite holder in order that the inoperative tool may be restored to the cutting position at the end of its idle stroke. The holders are staggered transversely to the direction of cutting so that the tools will make consecutive cuts on the work. The cutters are secured in the holders by set-screws e which project through slots in the side of the box and a hole i is provided to enable the spring f to be adjusted.
