Catch gear of minecage type. - In safety devices of the kind in which each guide rope 6 is gripped between the cam-shaped nose 9 of a pivoted lever 8 and a guide bracket 5 when the hoisting rope breaks, the brackets project beyond the side of the cage and are shaped as shown. The movement of each lever may be assisted by a spring 15.
