Disgorgers, gags, and baiting - needles. - A disgorger comprises a metal strip 1 having a bifurcated end 2 for engagement with the hook and a strip 7 having clips 8 integral therewith or rivetted thereto and adapted to slide on the strip 1. The strip 7 is provided with a guard 12 adapted, when slid up to the end 2, to cover the point and barb of the released hook to prevent re-engagement during withdrawal from the mouth. One limb of the end 2 may be extended spirally to serve as a line-guide 6. The guard 12 is preferably flared and channel-shaped to allow use with hooks of various sizes. The strip 1 has a looped end 4 constituting a fingerpiece, the end of the loop being formed as a shoulder 5. The distance from the shoulder 5 to the end 2 may be made equal to the minimum standard length for a certain kind of fish- The strip 1 may be graduated to serve as a scale for other kinds of fish. The strip 7 has a curved end 10 milled on the outside.
