The escapement frame d rocks on a shaft g and is provided with a universal bail h in the path of the type-leve.rs, and an escapement k co-operating with a rack m on the carriage l. The arm b of the escapement frame abuts on a roller n mounted in a yoke p which is pivoted to a pin q on a bracket s provided with an adjusting-screw u for the yoke. In a modification a roller on the arm b abuts on an adjustable plate.
