Thread guides; snarl catchers.-A thread guide for a spinning, twisting, or winding machine of the type in which a length of wire A, adjustably mounted in a wood or metal lappet, is bent to form an eyelet and provided with an anti-friction roller B over which the thread passes, has the roller B mounted on a snarl catcher C formed separately from the guide and adapted to be secured in an adjusted position by engagement of a screw-threaded portion c1 with nuts on the wire A. The roller may have a loose sleeve, and may be of metal, glass, porcelain &c.
