Rollers and roller heads. - Self-weighted top rollers A for ring spinning and other machines are connected together by a non-rigid coupling such as a cord B, Fig. 1, wire, chain, cable, links, spring, or the like, or are similarly connected to a weighted central boss D, Fig. 16, carried in a saddle e and neb e1 arranged so that no weight is transmitted to the rollers. When the front top roller comprises loose bosses on stationary spindles, the saddle may be. attached to the spindle by soldering or by set screws. The rollers are held in place by a spring e2 so that the saddles may be turned over as shown in Fig. 19 to facilitate the cleaning of the rollers.
