Lasts. - A last for making slippers or low shoes has the rear surface of the heel cut in a reverse curve, the lower portion 12 as seen in side elevation, convex, and the upper portion 11 concave and curving rearwardly to the top of the last. The sides of the heel are similarly curved, the upper side portions being substantially parallel, normal to the top surface 10 and narrower than usual. This construction causes the shoe or slipper made on the last to hug the heel tightly. Preferably, the upper rear edge of the last is in a vertical line with the convex portion.
