Collision-guards.-In a collision-guard for a road vehicle, provision is made for a. buffer plate 1 being slidably and in resilient connection, by means of bolts 17 and springs 30, with a spring plate 4 which is attached to brackets 9 having flexible ends 11. Upon impact of the bar 1 with an object, the bolts 17 slide through the spring plate 4 and the springs 30 are compressed until the ends of the bar 1 strike the curved ends 5 of the spring plate 4, further shock being taken up by the brackets 9.
