Process for the production of decorative materials from peat or bog deposit

Making bricks, building and paving blocks,slabs, and tiles.-Peat or bog deposit is cut into pieces ranging from 8-8000 cubic centimetres which are dried to reduce the moisture content to 10 per cent. or less. The pieces are then pressed, without the use of a binder, at a temperature of 40-200‹ C. and pressure of 25-300 atmospheres for the production of decorative plates, slabs. blocks, &c., which may be polished, rubbed down, burnished, or coated with impregnating substances.
