摘要

Three mires designated for research are located in Knyszynska Forest (NE Poland). Nowadays, they are characterized by different hydrological conditions. I have assumed that each of mires developed in different wetness conditions in the past. The aim of study was to reconstruct these changes during peat-forming process. Four kinds of mire development were recognized, based on subfossil plant communities with their humidity preferences (index of humidity) and on changes of peat decomposition. Radiocarbon dates allowed comparing these results with literature data about groundwater level and precipitation for North Poland territory in the Late Glacial and Holocene.
