Rocking, swing, &c. scats.-In a chair having a pivoted back which is also hinged at P2to a seat supported by links L1, L2 from the chair frame, the back is pivoted to the arms at a point P' a few inches inwards, toward the front of the arms, and the woodwork of the arms and/or the back is cut away so as to allow the back to drop as the seat moves forward. Other forms of supporting links may be employed and the upholstery may be so arranged as to conceal the supporting mechanism.
