In action the bell cranked governor weights tend to raise the sleeve f which acting through a, lever system n alters the eccentric o while the hand adjustment q alters the eccentric P and the combined action adjusts the fuel pump t. A tension spring u adjusted by a hand wheel w opposes the spring g and relieves the governor of the weight of the sleeve &c. The spring g is retained between upper and lower ball bearing cups.
