Centrifugal governors. - In apparatus for preventing overspeed and over-winding of winding- engines &c. of the kind in which a profile member is adjusted by a governor relatively to a member travelling proportionally to the cage, the bellcrank arms d and the axles of the rollers d1 of the governor, Fig. 4, are mounted upon ball or roller bearings h, Fig. 5, and the sleeve e is clear of the spindle f for the greater part of its length. In a modification the governor weights o, Fig. 6, are in the form of cups and move horizontally in a casing p under the control of spring q, q1, q2 of different strengths which come into action successively.
