Speaking-tubes.-Two conduits are provided between two stations the ends being connected by a single terminal fitting embodying both mouth and ear pieces arranged reversely at each end. The form shown in Fig. 3 comprises a tube divided longitudinally by a partition 1a into two separate conduits 1, 2 and is connected at the ends to a terminal fitting 3 provided with a septum 3a to form separate passages 3b, 3c, one leading to a mouthpiece 4, and the other to an earpiece 5 through a flexible tube 6. At the other end of the tubes the arrangement of mouthpiece and earpiece is reversed. In another form the two tubes are separate and arranged side by side the ends entering the fittings 3. In a further form the tubes are concentrically arranged, the fitting 3 being modified in structure so that the passages 3b, 3c communicate with this arrangement of tubes 1, 2. A whistle 7, Fig. 9 is fitted to the mouthpiece, and when the caller blows down the mouthpiece a piston 8b attached to a rod 8a and indicator 8 is moved outwardly to indicate that a call has been made and to allow the whistle to function.
