Plastic compositions.-Lamp black and other carbon blacks for use as a filler for rubber and other plastic materials are rendered less dusty while retaining their pulverulent condition by the incorporation of a small amount, e.g. up to 10 per cent, of tarry materials such as pine or other vegetable tars or " Gilsonite " or other natural asphalts. The incorporation may be effected by mixing the materials, e.g. in a kneading or a grinding and kneading machine, and then dry grinding or rolling or calendering, or by adding the tarry material dissolved in a solvent which is then evaporated.
