Ejector condensers; nozzles, cones, and combining tubes; regulating.-The casing of the condenser has an exhaust steam or other vapour inlet A, a relief valve E or inspection manhole at the top, a condensing cone B, and a parallel or diverging discharge pipe C. The water distributing apparatus F has an outer casing coupled direct to the water inlet pipe G, and a series of conical nozzles or steam guides H. An inner part 2 forms an annular orifice a with radial or tangential branches 3 connected to an inner conduit 4 provided with a hollow cone 5. A second annular orifice b is provided between parts 4, 5. The arrangement provides concentric steam and water cones. The annular nozzles may be cylindrical. In a modification, two conical annular and one cylindrical annular nozzle are provided. Rotary motion is given to the water by the tangential branches 3 or by adjustable vanes in the branches and annular passages. The area of the orifices of the coned annular nozzles is varied to vary the quantity of water supplied. The orifice discharge may be controlled by a cylindrical-conical sleeve longitudinally movable. The annular orifices may be continuous or interrupted at various points to form jets. Conical steam guides H bring steam and water into contact and compress air or incondensible gases and entrain them. Specifications 6612/03, 5812/04, 22780/06 and 116,769 are referred to.
