Direct air-pressure apparatus, automatic; vacuum apparatus.-Liquid-containing columns 1, 2, are connected by a tube 6, containing air under reduced pressure and the column 1 is provided with a tube 4. By periodic air suction or pressure effects, liquid enters the column 2 from a reservoir 8, and is discharged therefrom through float-controlled valves 10. The water discharged may actuate a hydraulic turbine &c. 14, from which the suction or pressure-producing apparatus may be operated. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of a tube 16, Fig. 1 (Cancelled) in the column 2, and other forms shown in Figs. 4, 5 and 6 (Cancelled), the form shown in Fig. 5 (Cancelled) being stated to allow water to be raised from great depths. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
