355,334. Electrolysis. EGYESRLT IZZOLAMPA •S VILLAMOSSAGI R•SZV•NYTARSAS‡G, Ujpest, near Budapest. May 22, 1930, No. 15770. Convention date, Dec. 23, 1929. [Class 41.] Tungsten and molybdenum compounds, depositing. -Metal bodies are coated with compounds of the kind known as tungsten and molybdenum bronzes by electrolytic treatment as cathodes in solutions of salts of meta- and polytungstic acids and meta- and polymolybdic acids. The alkali-metal and alkaline-earth metal salts may be employed, e.g. barium metatungstate BaW4O13À9H2O. Examples of bronzes which may be deposited are BaW4O12 and Na2Mo5O15. Tungsten, molybdenum, platinum and nickel may be coated by this method. Bodies so coated are suitable for the manufacture of oxide cathodes for electric discharge tubes.
