[Class 78 (i).] Conveyer mechanism for leers, annealing furnaces, or the like, comprises a plurality of separate endless conveyers 5, 9 which are arranged end to end and constitute driving members for an enveloping ware-supporting endless band 19 of wire mesh or lattice. The first drive section comprises fixed and adjustable sprockets 6, 7 over which pass transversely spaced chains 5, while the succeeding sections 9 are similarly formed of spaced chains 10 passing over driven and idle sprockets 11, 12, the shafts 13 carrying the driven sprockets 11 being extended through the side wall of the furnace and connected together for simultaneous operation. Each of the sections 9 is provided with a spring or gravity operated tensioning roller 23 and an adjustable roller 22 is also fitted for tensioning the lattice 19.
