[Class 146 (i).] In a tray for filing ledger-sheets &c., of the kind described in Specification 331,365, [Class 146 (i), Filing paper &c. sheets], in which the sides of the tray are hinged so that they can be inclined outwards for inspection or inwards to clamp the filed sheets, freely hinged members are connected to the upper edges of the hinged sides so that in the inward position they press on a large area of the filed sheets. The hinged members d, Figs. 1 and 2, are flat plates and extend above and below the upper edge of the hinged sides b1. The ends c of the tray are each constructed of two walls c1, c2 so as to leave an intermediate space c3 in which the stays e attached to the sides b1 can slide. Segmental slots f1 are provided in the walls c1 along which the offset parts e2 of the stays e can move in the inward leaning position. The sides b1 are held in the various inward positions by bolts g, sliding through lugs g1 on the sides b1 and formed with projecting finger-pieces g2 ; the bolts engage with holes h in the walls c1. The sides b1 are held in the outward position by projections e1 on the stays e which engage with the connecting walls above the apertures f through which the stays pass.
