[Class 146 (i)] In a filing tray as in Specification 368,036 for filing ledger cards, the sides of the tray are reinforced by rods HSP1/SP extending to the bottoms of the sides and below them by extensions H2 parallel to the hinges F of the swingable flaps A of the tray. The rods HSP1/SP and extensions HSP2/SP are held by turned-in edges of the sides and ends of the tray. The end plates of the tray which are hinged at E are provided with spring-loaded locking rods D, which are made integral with release grips K, which are adapted to enter holes C in the sides of the tray, the holes C being made oval to allow for inaccuracies in the hingeing. The flaps A are provided with outturned extensions B which serve as lifting handles. Serrated strips are provided in the bottom of the tray and prevent slipping of the edges of the sheets G.
