In the manufacture of rubber products containing mineral fibres, with, if desired, other fibres, the fibres are reduced to a pulp in water, and coagulating agents are added thereto at any time prior to the addition of rubber or like latices. Aluminium sulphate or calcium or magnesium salts are used as coagulating agents. The rubberized pulp may be sheeted on a paper-making machine either as one thick sheet or in a plurality of thinner sheets which may be further treated with latex. Vulcanizing agents, accelerators and antioxidizers, preferably in the colloidal state, may also be added and the product vulcanized. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the addition of the latex to the fibres prior to the addition of the coagulant, and of anticoagulants to the fibres. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
