[Class 74 (ii).] Relates to flat machines for the manufacture of full-fashioned hosiery. The loose course &c. mechanism is brought into action automatically at times determined by a pattern chain which regulates the onward movement of a shaft 49 carrying edge ca:ns such as 47. Horizontal levers 40 running on the cams are thus enabled to shift handles 37 on the loose course &c. levers 31, so that sliding rollers 33 come into the track of cams 35 on the cam shaft 16. The stitchregulating shaft 26 is thus rocked to the required amounts when loose courses, welts, &c. are to be produced.
