Addition to 336,414, [Class 36, Electricity, Conducting &c.] [Class 36.] Modifications are made in the structure of the parent Specification principally to prevent or minimize the risk of explosions and to facilitate and cheapen construction. The upper tier is fitted with a gastight partition P, Fig. 1, and floor P1, to form a chamber 5f1 for hightension electric mains, service connections from the other mains and cables passing below the floor P1. The sewer 5a may be replaced by a sewer 5a1 consisting of pre-cast pipes disposed below the subway 5g; said sewer may have openings 5b3 to allow overflow into the subway and lower tiers. The front wall 51 may be disposed under the kerb, as shown in Fig. 2, and may have thickened parts 52 to accommodate vertical tubes or shafts D. The structure, whether formed as in the parent Specification or comprising the modifications set out, may be built up of pre-cast units, assembled and jointed together.
