摘要
321,140. Textiles (New Process), Ltd. Oct. 8, 1928, [Convention date]. Retting. - Jute and similar fibres are treated for from 48 hours to 4 or 5 days in a bath containing bacteria produced by the fermentation of flax and/or hemp, then dried until 30 per cent of water remains, and afterwards passed through a breaker carding machine, mercerized, bleached, and rendered supple with oil capable of emulsion and finally dried. The fibre thus obtained is flexible, soft, and white, and resembles wool. The bacteria fluid is obtained from the fermentation of flax &c. when the fermentation is far advanced, and potassium phosphate or like nutritive substance is added. The bath can be used again.
