383,606. Inductive control of trains from track. VEREINIGTE EISENBAHNSIGNALWERKE GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. Feb. 10, 1931, No. 4148. Convention date, March 18, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 105.] Relates to train control apparatus inductively actuated from the track when a train control is to be effected. The arrangement comprises a brake valve magnet V which is energized over a contact i1 of the impulse relay Ji, a front contact c2 of a control relay C, and a contact l, whichisclosed when a manual brake-release key L is in its unactuated position. A magnet Ja to pull over the armature J when the track impulse is received in the relay Ji is also energized over a front contact c1 of the relay C and contacts b2 of an " instruction key" B and g of a speed controlled device. The brake application, which is initiated when the armature J opens contact il, is cancelled by depressing the brake release key L to close contact l2, thereby short-circuiting the pullover magnet Ja so that the armature J is able to move over to the normal position shown, the impulse circuit now having travelled beyond the sphere of action of the track circuit and being in normal condition. The brake release key L must not be maintained depressed as only when the key is unactuated and the contact h1 closed can the brake magnet V be energized to cancel the braking. An impulse may be rendered ineffective by placing the " instruction key " B on contact b1 so that the pull-over magnet Ja is short-circuited over the armature contact i2 and does not therefore pull off the armature J ; the train speed must be low enough to close the contact g over which the control relay C is energized otherwise the brake magnet circuit is open at contact c2.
