[Class 12 (i).] A sliding suspension for drawers of the double suspension type in which the parts slide on ball bearings comprises a channel section sheet metal carcase runner 1 fixed to the wall of the cabinet and provided with inwardly turned flanges 3, 4. A pair of lineal ball cages 6, 7 is fixed to the lower flange 4 and rollably mounted upon two balls 8, 9 located respectively in the cages 6, 7 is a channel section sheet metal floating slide 10 upon the top of the upper inwardly turned flange of which is a lineal ball cage 13 containing a ball 14. A narrow sheet metal channel 15 is welded to the inner face of the web 11 of the floating slide 10 and is provided with a pair of lineal ball cages 18, 19 containing a pair of balls 20, 21. Rollably mounted on the balls 20, 21 is a drawer slide 22 of L-shaped cross section, the vertical flange of which is fixed to the side wall of the drawer. The relative travel of the three elements of the suspension is limited by buffers 27, 28, mounted respectively on the near end inner face of the web 11 of the floating slide 10 and midway along the horizontal portion of the L-shaped drawer slide 22. The buffer 27 engages with a finger 25 projecting upwardly from the lower flange 4 of the carcase runner 1 and the buffer 28 abuts against a lateral projection 31 of a latch 29 pivoted to the front end of the floating slide 10. The drawer may be removed after swinging the latch 29 upwardly about its pivot. Inward movement of the drawer and floating slide 10 is limited by a rubber buffer 32 mounted at the rear end of the floating slide.
