摘要
A salt solution for use in dyeing textiles contains a sodium salt, a potassium or rubidium salt, an alkaline earth salt and a magnesium salt, the cations being so proportioned in the mixture that the cellular structure of the materials remains substantially unaffected. A suitable mixture contains proportionally 100 molecules of sodium, 5 of potassium and 2.5 each of calcium and magnesium; the proportion of sodium to the other metals is preferably 100; 10; the potassium may be replaced by rubidium and the calcium by strontium or barium; A salt mixture used contains 86.81 gm. sodium chloride, 5.54 gm. potassium chloride, 3.53 gm. magnesium chloride and 4.10 gm. calcium chloride. If the mixture is to be kept in solid form for some time organic salts are employed, a suitable mixture being 74.55 gm. sodium chloride, 7.47 gm. potassium tartrate, 8.15 gm. magnesium lactate and 9.78 gm. calcium lactate. The solution may be added to a dye bath containing indanthrene blue GCD, sodium hydrosulphite and caustic soda; after treating for an hour at 50-60 DEG C., oxidizing the product, washing with soap and rinsing, a darker and more brilliant colour is obtained.ALSO:A salt solution for use in the treatment of organic cellular materials such as foodstuffs of animal or vegetable origin, textiles, hides, skins, in the production of yeast and for therapeutic purposes, contains a sodium salt, a potassium or rubidium salt, an alkaline earth salt and a magnesium salt, the cations being so proportioned in the mixture that the cellular structure of the materials remains substantially unaffected. A suitable mixture contains proportionally 100 molecules of sodium, 5 of potassium and 2,5 each of calcium and magnesium; the proportion of sodium to the other metals is preferably 100; 10; the potassium may be replaced by rubidium and the calcium by strontium or barium. A salt mixture used contains 86,81 gm. sodium chloride, 5,54 gm. potassium chloride, 3,53 gm. magnesium chloride and 4,10 gm. calcium chloride. If the mixture is to be kept in solid form for some time organic salts are employed, a suitable mixture being 74,55 gm. sodium chloride, 7,47 gm. potassium tartrate, 8,15 gm. magnesium lactate and 9,78 gm. calcium lactate. The treatment of gelatine, and the cooking of spinach using this last mixture is described. The solution can be used in cooking food, in pickling meat, in preserving fish, in thawing frozen foodstuffs, e.g. fish or meat, in the preparation of dye baths for textiles, in preserving skins and for therapeutic purposes. The salt solution is added in the production of yeast from a mash containing molasses, nutritious mineral salts such as potassium phosphate, magnesium sulphate, calcium chloride &c., and a nitrogenous substance such as ammonium sulphate, the time of fermentation being thereby shortened. The solution may also be added to a dye bath for textile fabrics containing indanthrene blue GCD, sodium hydrosulphite and caustic soda; after treating for an hour at 50-60 DEG C., oxidizing the product, washing with soap and rinsing, a darker and more brilliant colour is obtained.
