396,939. Hardening ground. FRANCOIS CEMENTATION CO., Ltd., 701, Salisbury House, London, NEELANDS, A. R., Bentley Works, and GEE, A., 104, Wentworth Road, both in Doncaster. Aug. 10, 1932, No. 22397. [Class 68 (i).] Relates to the petrification or silicification of soil or other measures, and consists in the introduction of chemical substances in solution into the measures either continuously or intermittently and before, during, or after, the introduction of compressed air or other gas, such chemical solutions being adapted to react to form precipitates or deposits in the soil of a silicious or petrifying character. A slurry of cement, lime, or other grouting material may also be added. The chemical solutions may combine chemically in the soil with each other, and in certain cases with the constituents of the soil and the introduced air or gas. The solutions may be sodium silicate, aluminium sulphate, magnesium chloride, &c. The introduction of the solutions may be effected either through the same tubes or borings which serve for the introduction of the compressed air or gas, or through separate tubes or borings.
