[Class 146 (i).] A device for holding large books, e.g., the two volumes of the London Telephone Directory, consists of a box a with two compartments, and, adapted to slide therein, two book holders or covers, each consisting of two sides d, e and a back c, one side d being provided with a lid h which closes the top end of the compartment when the book falls into it. The book may be lifted by means of a finger hole j. The two compartments may be separated by a partition, and at the bottom of each is a buffer. Each volume is secured by a coil spring g.
