[Class 81 (ii).] An instrument for castrating and docking comprises pivoted levers 1, 2 formed with jaws 1b, 2b extending from one side thereof substantially parallel with the axis of the pivot 3, one of said jaws carrying a cutting blade 4 which co-operates shearwise with the other jaw and both jaws having blunt edges 1c, 2c adapted to compress the part from which severing has taken place. A docking knife 5 is secured to the side of one of the levers 2 and co-operates with the lever 1, said levers being formed with concave portions 1d, 2d. This knife acts as an end closure mem ber for the jaws, a projection 7 acting similarly at the opposite end. A second docking means, consisting of a pair of concave formations 2e and a knife 6, may be provided.
