A varnish for wing &c. fabrics of aircraft comprises a basis of chlorinated rubber. phosphoric esters and pigments, e.g. zinc oxide and iron oxide may be added. An example comprises 200 g. chlorinated rubber, 30 g. tricresyl phosphate, 20 g. tributyl phosphate, 300 g. toluene and 300 g. xylene. 100 g. iron oxide may be added.
