458,280. Electric switches. HOLT, F., Atlas Iron Works, Whitworth Road, Rochdale. Sept. 26, 1935, Nos. 26606/35 and 12641/36. [Class 38 (v)] [See also Group IX] In an electrically operated stop mechanism for use with creels used in warping-mills, beaming-machines, looms, &c. in which each yarn of a sheet of warps passes through an eye a4, d' connected to an arm a2 pivoted on one contact rod b, the part a3 of the arm which engages the other contact rod c is eccentric to the rod b so that it will at first have a wiping action on the rod c and then a wedging action to prevent bouncing of the arm when the yarn fails and the arm falls. As shown in Figs. 4 and 7, the eye rod d and the eccentric contact part g2 are secured to a cylindrical shell e of insulating material. A number of these shells e are pivoted on the contact rod b, a projection e7 on each entering the adjacent shell. The second contact rod c passes through a segmental slot e3 in each shell, the contact surfaces being therefore enclosed.
