482,098. Kinematograph projectors. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. July 20, 1937, No. 20101. Convention date, July 24, 1936. [Class 97 (i)] In projectors controlled by a master member for stationary projection and /or reverse movement of the film, the latter is protected from heat from the lamp by a screen moved into position by operation of the master member, and returned to its inoperative position by the driving mechanism of the projector. As shown a plate 1, which may be integral with the projector or a separate constructional part, has an aperture in the projection beam and bears a sliding plate 3 having apertures 9 10, 11 for forward, stationary and reverse projection respectively, the aperture 10 bearing a heat filter. A master comprising a lever 6 carrier on a pin 7 connected to a switch in circuit with the driving motor, is also connected by a pin and slot 4, 5 to the plate 3. A heat screen 13, pivoted at 12 has a projection 17 engaging a slot 15 in a lug 16 carried on a ring 14 engaged by friction discs 20 on a shaft 18 of the projector mechanism. In operation, if a change from stationary to reverse projection is to be effected the lever 6 is depressed, moving the plate 3 downwards and simultaneously moving the shutter 13 over the aperture in the plate 1 by engagement with a pin 22 on the plate. Completion of the movement of the lever 6 starts the motor which, by virtue of the friction discs 20 pivots the screen 13 out of the beam. A stop 23 is provided to move the screen into the beam. The plate 3 may be pivoted.
