484,866. Concentrating ores &c. SETTERBERG, C. T., and TYDEN, E. O. E. July 12, 1937, No. 19289. Convention date, Feb. 13. [Class 82 (ii)] The concentrating surface of an inclined elastically supported shaking table for the wet concentration of ores &c. is formed as a stiff plate of non-metallic material which is so thin, 12 mms. at most, and is so supported that it is put into a vibratory motion by the shocks imparted to it by the shaking mechanism. The plate may, for example, be made of wood or a wood-like artificial product such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Masonite," in which case it is preferably 4-5 mms. thick, or of a material such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Bakelite," and it may be covered with a mat of rubber, cork, linoleum &c. The thickness may vary over the area of the plate so that vibrations of different strength are produced. In the form shown the thin plate 10 is supported by means of bars 9 or studs on the ordinary thick table top 1 which is mounted on spring legs 2 and shaken by an eccentric 5. The ore is fed from the hopper 7 and water is supplied from the spraying pipes 8, the concentrates being led away through the trough 12.
