Improvements in or relating to the production of stable concentrated solutions of the salts of ortho-iodohippuric acid

Concentrated aqueous solutions of salts of o-iodo-hippuric acid for use in X-ray photography of the urinary tract are prepared by dissolving the salts in presence of urethanes and/or water-soluble pyrazolones, for instance ethyl urethane or 1-phenyl-2 : 3-dimethyl-5-pyrazolone. The solutions are stated not to throw down crystals on storage.ALSO:Concentrated aqueous solutions of salts of o-iodo-hippuric acid for use as contrast media in X-ray photography of the urinary tract are prepared by dissolving the salts in presence of urethanes and/or water-soluble pyrazolones, for instance ethyl urethane or 1-phenyl-2 : 3-dimethyl-5-pyrazolone. The solutions are stated to be stable and not to throw down crystals on storage.
