[Classes 120 (ii) and 142 (iii)] To remove the residue yarn 12 from ejected bobbins 3, these move from a receiving shoot 1 attached to 'a casing 2 on the loom frame on to an apron conveyer 4 comprising card clothing having gaps 7 for urging forward a bobbin, which is temporarily arrested by a stop roller 9. The yarn is drawn off the bobbin by rotating nipping rollers 10, 11 before or whilst the bobbin continues its discharge movement, the roller 9 being carried by a cam and spring controlled frame 13. This is periodically rocked to raise the roller and free the bobbin, a yarn holder 6 being simultaneously lowered to engage the yarn end and prevent it leaving with the discharging bobbin, which falls through guides into a receiving shoot. The yarn holder may comprise a yielding or flexible (rubber) plate or a card covered freely rotating roller. A rubber or cloth faced metal stop 19 prevents the yarn from wrapping round the roller 10, and a brush 20 cleans loose yarns from the apron. The shoot 1 may be adjustable. According to the Provisional Specification, a lever carrying the bobbin stop may be operated by a trip pin and may have a leaf spring at its yarn holding end.
