[Classes 120 (ii) and 142 (iii)] The endless apron conveyer of the parent Specification is replaced by a fixed guideway 9 down which the bobbin 33 gravitates from the loom and which is providedwith a rough facing which frictionally grips the trailing end 34 of the yarn from the bobbin and partly unwinds it; a pair of constantly rotating nip rollers 12,13 are arranged with the periphery of the roller 12 close to the lower end of the guideway and a movable stop device, e.g. a roller 23 freely mounted in a pivoted frame 22, is arranged adjacent the nip rollers and is urged by its weight or a spring, or both its weight and a spring; into position to arrest the bobbin passing down the guideway and is displaced from such position to allow the bobbin to fall from the apparatus and thereafter is returned to its initial stopping position, when the bobbin has passed it, so as to engage the trailing end of the yarn with one of the nip rollers which deliver the yarn to a chute 35. The nip rollers may be mounted in blocks slidable in slots in a frame 5 formed of a pair of plates bolted together with a block 8 between them, a channel in the block forming the guideway 9 in continuation of the inclined bottom 31 of a hopper 29 into which the bobbins are delivered from the loom; the bottom 31 may be faced with frictional material. The frame 22 is pivoted on a rod 21 in the frame 5 and the rod has an extension 20 engaged by an eccentric pin on a gear 17 driven from the roller 13; the rollers 12, 13 are geared together and the shaft of the roller 13 is extended and driven from a part of the loom.
