[Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXIII] Two articles a, b such as two sections of armour plate, are joined by connectors c, with bevelled faces e1, forced over corresponding faces d1 by wedges g. In modifications more than one bevelled face is provided on each connector. In a further modification, Fig. 16, the connector c is formed with a stem c2 this being provided with notches to receive wedges g. In other modifications, Fig. 18, the connector c has a slight taper along its length and is tightened by driving it axially.
