[Classes 20 (i) and 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] A bracket 4 is supported wholly by friction on a H- or I-section bar by providing the bracket with wedgepieces 7 which taper inwardly towards the web of the section-bar B, and are adapted to be forced into contact with the inside surfaces of opposed flanges of the bar by means of a clamping member 5, embracing the section bar. The clamping member may comprise a U-shaped saddle with rear wedge piece 10 and apertured limbs to receive a transverse wedge 8 bearing against the bracket. Alternatively, the clamping member may comprise bolts 14, Fig. 6, pivoted to the bracket and a wedge-shaped rear clamping bar 15, secured' by wing-nuts to the bolts. Upstanding projections are provided on the upper face of the bracket to receive a wedge 13 between them for supporting a cross-member. A separate wedge may be used at the rear of the saddle to clamp the bracket to the post.
