[Class 97 (ii)] An indicator for the attitude and behaviour of aircraft during flight comprises a casing 1 having a translucent front screen 3 upon which a representation of the aircraft is depicted, two tubes 6 whereby light from bulbs 7 passing through aperture 8 are reflected by mirrors 11, 11', to a mirror 13 mounted for universal movement and to remain perpendicular to gravitational force or to. the resultant of gravitational and centrifugal forces acting on the aircraft and thence by mirrors 15, 151 to the screen. When the aircraft is flying level the light beams H, H1 are projected on to the screen to coincide with the marks 16, 161 on the aircraft representation, deviation of the beams indicating the mechanism of the aircraft other than level. The mirror 13 in frame 17 is mounted in a gimbal ring 18 mounted universally and is provided with a pendulum dipping into an oil receptacle 28. A " rate of turn indicator may be provided comprising a pointer 32 mounted on a shaft 31 attached to a frame 34 in which a shaft 38 is mounted having a gyroscope 35 driven by air jet nozzles 39. A restoring spring 37 for the frame 34 is provided and the pointer 32 is responsive to any gyroscopic couples set up. Modifications of the mirror 13 and also of the mirrors 11, 111, 15, 151 as described.
