[Class 97 (iii)] An instrument for indicating flight attitude of aircraft comprises a scale and a single indicator operated by a pendulum mounted to swing about the longitudinal axis and also about the transverse horizontal axis. As shown a pendulum 16 is mounted to swing about the transverse axis 17 and has mounted at its lower end a further pendulum 19 having a pivot 18 arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis. An indicator 14 having a representation 15 of an aeroplane is mounted on the pendulum 16 preferably on a gear 21 co-acting with a gear 20 in the pendulum 19 so that rotation of the indicator 14, 15 shows the side inclination of the aircraft in the correct sense. The indicator 14, 15 may have a counterweight 22 and an additional bearing 23 and co-acts with the scale 11. The longitudinal inclination of the aircraft is shown by the movement up and down the scale in relation to a datum line.
