527,272. Reinforced concrete; air-raid shelters. MATHEWS, C. B., and AMBROSE, J. G: April 6, 1939, No. 10711. [Classes 20 (i) and 20 (iv)] Air-raid shelters, huts, and the like, are formed of reinforced concrete the reinforcement taking the form of wattles of willows or canes which are positioned on the foundation to form a support for the concrete which is cast thereon. The building may be of square or round section and the walls may be solid or hollow. A foundation 2 is laid on the site and supports upright 3 to which are secured the wattles of willows in four layers ; the concrete is cast between the outer pair forming walls a with spaces b between. The roof d is cast solid on wood reinforcement 3a and may be further supported by a pillar k. The wattles of willows may lie near to the surface of the cast concrete or towards the centre thereof.
