[Class 39 (ii)] [Also in Group XL] The envelope of an incandescent lamp or electric discharge lamp or valve is filled with a gas at super atmospheric pressure by (i) exhausting the envelope (ii) filling a compression pump with the gas etc. to be used in the envelope (iii) delivering the gas by the pump to the envelope and (iv) sealing off the envelope. A single three-way valve controls the piping to the envelope and pump. A liquid piston pump may be used.
