[Class 59] [Also in Group XXXIV] Meansfor lubricating the eccentric portion and/or the concentric portions of a driving shaft comprise (a) an endless chain 12 passing around the eccentric portion 1b and dipping into oil in a chamber 10 in a jawstock 9, and (b) porous oil-impregnated bronze bushes 2 in which run the concentric portions 1a, the bushes being surrounded by oil reservoirs 5. The oil deposited by the chain is caught in cavities 13 in the eccentric bush 8 and distributed thence over the bearing surface by helical grooves 14 communicating with annular grooves 16 in the bush. Surplus oil returns to the chamber 10 via ducts 17. A sight glass may be fitted in the wall of the chamber 10. The chain lubrication may be applied to the concentric bearings.
