[Class 78 (v)] [Also in Group XXXVI] The winding rope of a hauling or winding gear has incorporated within it an insulated conductor wire 17 whereby automatic indications or records of departures from the normal operation of the gear can be conveyed by way of this conductor. Such automatic indicators comprise an accelerometer or decelerometer consisting of an inertia element and a switch automatically closed by the change of speed. The conductor,is normally capable of carrying 0.01 to 0.40 amps. Fig. 5 shows across-section of a cable formed of circular and trapezoidal wires 21, 22, 23 and wedge-shaped strands 20 surrounding and protecting the centrally located, conductor wires 17.
