A process for nickel plating and nickel plating and chrome iron parts of any other ferrous and zinc which comprises a pre-pickling of parts to be coated fatting applying an initial coating and applying nickel bath to end in where required with a chromium plating bath characterized by that procedure that the initial coating mentioned constitutes a layer electrodeposited cadmium and greater or lesser thickness as appropriate.
