[Class 83 (iv)] An adjustable die for drawing rods, tubes &c. is built up from a number of blocks some 3, Fig. 1, having an operative face 4 and a complementary face 5 consequent to one another and another or others 6 having a pair of operative faces 7, 8 consequent to one another. In addition spacing blocks such as 9 may be provided having one operative face 10 and two complementary faces 11, 12 consequent to the face 10. The faces on the blocks may be arranged to permit fresh drawing surfaces to be brought into use by turning the block through 90 or 180 degrees. The faces may be at an angle other than a right-angle, in Fig. 8 showing a die for a section of general triangular form with one rib and a re-entrant angle. Dies for cruciform, tee, and a joggled section are also illustrated. In some cases the blocks may have a flat face for engagement by the set screws 2, otherwise packing pieces 17 with opposed flat and complementary faces are employed.
