[Class 110 (ii)] The lubricant supply to a rotary compressor of the outwardly -sliding vane type is controlled by a valve operated by the movement of the air delivery valve. When delivery of air commences an air valve 1 is lifted against the pressure of a spring 15, and a grooved portion 10 of the valve stem 4 connects the upper and lower passages 7, allowing lubricant to flow from a supply pipe 8 to a channel 9 within the compressor. A rim 2 on the valve head ensures that the valve head travels a sufficient distance to the right to allow entry of lubricant, before air delivery commences. Air is delivered through holes 12 to a chamber 13 and pipe 14. The lubricant also acts as a coolant for the interior of the compressor.
